nevenka's designer Rosemary sat down with our MFW family for a pre fashion week chat. Discover her inspiration behind the new collection, her favourite piece of clothing and the one celebrity she'd love to style.
Career highlight to date? My first international campaign shot on Hvar island. Croatia is my motherland.
Inspiration for the collection you will be showing? My recent trip to Croatia and the Amalfi coast, Italy. Travelling always inspires me and sourcing for fabrics. I have sourced organic handmade cotton laces and crochet that I will use in my collection.
Favourite materials to work with? Cotton laces from Europe. French lace.
All-time favourite designer? I appreciate visionaries and deep thinkers like Lee McQueen and John Galliano.
Best advice you have ever received? Listen to that pull inside of you and have the courage to follow it.
Favourite item of clothing or accessory that you own? My late mother’s handmade crochet tote bag and her clustered crystal and pearl necklaces.
Where do you find inspiration? Travelling and connecting with my nevenka women.
How would you describe nevenka in three words? Strong, detailed, authentic.
If you could dress anyone in your designs who would it be? Vanessa Paradis.
